Caring Canines Therapy Dogs Meeting

 

Meting Minutes:  August 4, 2010

 

Location:  Athens NY Diner, Mt Dora FL

 

Present: President: Ryna LaValle

              Vice President: Seymour Doctor

               Recording Secretary:  Melissa Ripple

 

 

Proceedings:

 

  • Ryna opened the meeting at 8:10pm and shared a few stories.

 

  • There were several guests in attendance:

                  Tom and Darlene Bandoly former members from the Villages

                  Bev Johnson from the Dynamic Dog group in the Villages

                  Marnie Lewis from The Green K9 a new pet shop in downtown Tavares

 

  • Ryna presented a certification certificate to Lorraine Pace & “Princess”

 

 

Announcements:

 

  1. Web-site – new calendar with printable capabilities
  2. Fish Memorial – Aug 14th @ 1pm, 20 dogs allowed, TV Channel 6 news will film
  3. Waterman has new policies

                                                              i.      Floors 4 & 5 are now off limits for dogs as they are now ICU and Post-Op

                                                            ii.      Cancer Center, Infusion, Rehab, Loby and all of  Floor 3 is open for therapy dog visits

  1. CGC will be held at Waterman in a large room – August 29th at 1:00
  2. People joining from Fish Memorial 2 nurses and 1 doctor
  3. DGP supplement can now be purchased through CCTD for $35
  4. CCTD T-shirts can be worn for visits during the summer
  5. Membership is due by August 31, 2010
  6. Marnie from ‘The Green K9’ talked about ‘Mutts & Martini’s’

                      Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Al’s Landing in Tavares

                     There will be raffles and a Frisbee throwing demonstration it

                     will benefit  Pet Rescue by Judy

 

  Beth Kimbrough spoke about getting more people @ each visitation.

            Asked for members to keep in mind any ideas.

  • Lisa spoke about Buddies through Bullies, a English Bulldog Rescue Group.   They are having a yard sale on October 3rd and need donations.
  • Ryna closed the meeting at 8:39pm
